Performed Assignments of AISD
The research advisors of Asian Institute for Sustainable Development have developed expertise in several distinct areas, which are related to social, educational, developmental and economic research. It has a full-fledged Research and Consultancy Wing, which has been conducting various social, economic and psychological researches through its research advisors for past few years. Developmental Programme Implementation
1. Livelihood Reconstruction through Sustainable Agriculture Project in Lanjigarh of Kalahandi District,Orissa State
Project is aiming to enhance the annual household income of poor tribal of Lanjigarh Block by 300% in three years time by ensuring year round livelihood through sustainable agricultural practices, cultivation of medicinal plants and processing and marketing of NTFP. Project has assisting nearly 150 households to practise double cropping in 250 acres in the first year itself. Project covered 900 acres of land in 81 villages under sustainable agriculture and 914 farmers were benefited in three years time.
Besides agriculture project is promoting commercial cultivation of medicinal plants with drip irrigation system, marketing and processing NTFP and Strawberry cultivation. Project is supported by Vedanta Alumina Limited.
2. Resettlement and Rehabilitation of Project Affected Households by Orissa Power Generation Limited’s 1000MW Super thermal Project and Livelihood Reconstruction of PAPs
Project in the first phase will resettle and rehabilitate 161 project affected households in their newly allocated colony at Manhorpur in Sundargarh district of Orissa. Besides this project will also look at the following aspects:

- Providing basic civil amenities like, roads, power connectivity, cultural and religious strictures, drinking and other water sources, drainage, etc.
In the second phase project will assist around 600 persons to find out sustainable alternative livelihoods. Project is supported by Tata Power.
